During the weKONEKT.week, FARI and weKONEKT.brussels organised the FARI AI Datawalk & Demos. Students got the opportunity to view the city in a new light and explore the newly opened AI Test & Experience Center. Its point is to make citizens aware of various ways data is collected around you, with or without your knowledge. VUB and ULB students had exclusive access to the new space.

De Summer Assembly telt meer dan 700 deelnemers en start met een dynamisch programma gevuld met keynotes, co-creatie labo’s, bar talks workshops, excursies, filmvertoningen en artistieke voorstellingen. De uitvalsbasis: Tour à Plomb in hartje Brussel.

The third visit of the SHEFCE project was held at the Vrije Universiteit Brussels on 9-11th March 2022, involving around 20 participants representing the different partners institutions from Ireland, Croatia, Spain, Belgium and Austria. During this visit, participants learn about community engagement in higher education in specific contexts and its assessment.

Nog sterker inzetten op topwetenschap in en uit Brussel, dat is wat de VUB als Urban Engaged University wil doen. Daarom versterken we onze banden met collega-onderzoekers van de Erasmus Hogeschool Brussel (EHB) en kunnen we rekenen op middelen uit het Zaaifonds dat werd opgericht in de schoot van de Universitaire Associatie Brussel (UAB).

Het academiejaar loopt naar zijn einde, het EK voetbal is nog in volle gang. In de reeks met vijf verrassende dubbelinterviews die BRUZZ en de VUB samen maakten voor de podcast Antipode, waren onlangs VUB-rector Caroline Pauwels en bondscoach Roberto Martínez te gast. Hun vakgebieden blijken meer raakvlakken te hebben dan je zou vermoeden: excelleren, data-analyse en talenknobbels, ...

For the second edition VUB and ULB joined forces with the EhB. The three institutes leave their trusted campus to venture into the city of Brussels. Over 6 000 students participated in over 150 events and we were able to welcome many staff members. Over 40 events were also open to the public.
